Dominique Merlet, renowned professor, formerly at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris and now at the Geneva Conservatory, is an outstanding performer and musician of exceptional repute. He was a pupil of Roger-Ducasse, Nadia Boulanger and Louis Hiltbrand. Awarded three “1st Prize” at the Paris Conservatory and winner of the prestigious Geneva International Competition.

His performing career has taken him around the world in collaboration with noted conductors including Charles Munch, Paul Paray, Armin Jordan, Sergiu Comissiona. Dominique Merlet’s recordings have won “Grand Prix du Disque” and “Diapason d’ Or”.

He gives frequent recitals, master-classes, and lecture recitals worldwide, and has a splendid legacy of students who themselves are laureates of major piano competitions. A return to facsimile manuscripts for interpretative matters brings a rare element of authenticity to his own performances and master-classes. He frequently participates at international piano juries, is an Honorary European President of EPTA as well as President of the Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Foundation. His impressive accomplishments have been rewarded by the French Ministery of Culture with the title of Officier des Arts et des Lettres
