The 10th International Paderewski Piano Competition
Bydgoszcz, November 6th-20th, 2016
The 10th International Paderewski Piano Competition took place in Bydgoszcz from the 6th to the 20th of November, 2016. The event is organized by the Paderewski Music Association, with the collaboration of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music and the Pomeranian Philharmonic Hall. Partner of the event – Yamaha Music Europe GmbH.
The Competition auditions was open to the public and shall take place in the concert halls of the Music Academy and the Pomeranian Philharmonic Hall in Bydgoszcz.
The Competition is organized to commemorate Ignacy Jan Paderewski, a remarkable pianist, virtuoso, composer, politician and statesman.
The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, born between 1984 and 2000.
The following pianists are barred from the Competition:
• pianists who over the last three years (since October 1st, 2013) were regular students of a Juror in any school or academy of music,
• pianists who over the last three years (since October 1st, 2013) took additional private classes with a Juror,
• pianists who are Juror ‘s relatives.
The above restrictions shall not apply to pianists who attended sporadically masterclasses held by a Juror.

The Competition has been financed by The Ministry of Culture & National Heritage from Fund of the Promotion of Cutlure as part of the “Music” program, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance, City of Bydgoszcz and the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
The Competition has been the member of Alink-Argerich Foundation since 2004 as well as the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva since 2010. Outstanding laureates of the Competition including Yulianna Avdeeva, Eduard Kunz, Zheeyoung Moon, Dinara Klinton, Hyuk Lee, Jakub Kuszlik and Kamil Pacholec testify to the high-ranking status of the event. Rafał Blechacz is the Ambassador of the Competition.
