Born in Italy in 2001, Elia Cecino is winner of the First prize at the 22nd Premi Iturbi in València, where the jury chaired by Joaquín Achúcarro also awarded him special prizes for the best performances of Beethoven (Concerto op. 58) and Chopin (Sonata op. 35). He previously won the competitions in New Orleans, James Mottram in Manchester, Ricard Viñes in Lleida. He is a laureate of the Arthur Rubinstein in Tel Aviv and the New York Vendome Prize. Recently Elia was a semifinalist at the 2025 Cliburn Competition in Fort Worth. He has performed with orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Orquesta de València, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Israel Philharmonic, La Fenice Orchestra, and Louisiana Philharmonic, collaborating with conductors such as Riccardo Frizza, Yoel Levi, Joshua Weilerstein and Thomas Wilkins. Elia regularly appears as soloist and chamber musician in venues such as the Merkin Hall (New York), Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona), Laeiszhalle (Hamburg), Ehrbar Saal (Vienna), Bronfman Auditorium (Tel Aviv), and Teatro La Fenice (Venice). His recordings include a debut CD for Suonare Records, a Chopin monograph on OnClassical and “Brahms Piano Works”, recently released by IBS Classical. A Schumann project for Piano Classics is forthcoming.
